Waxing Care

DO’S & DON’TS

DO let your technician know if you are on any medications, including but not limited to retinoids, acne medications or antibiotics.

DO allow your hair to grow at least 1/4″ before waxing (equivalent to a minimum of 3 weeks of growth post shaving).

DO allow optimum time in between waxing appointments, typically 4 weeks.

It is OPTIONAL to take an ibuprofen or a topical numbing cream prior to your wax.

DO NOT shave or tweeze in between appointments.

DO NOT wax if you are sick.

You CAN get waxed while on your menstrual cycle, so long as you use a tampon or a menstrual cup. If you choose not to wax on your menstrual cycle, please plan your appointments accordingly. If that time is unpredictable, please wait to schedule until after your cycle is done to avoid cancellation fees. NOTE, due to water retention during menstruation, waxing may feel more painful.

In case of reaction, DO NOT book a waxing appointment the same day you have a special event or function.

DO NOT tan for 48 hours before and after waxing, this includes self tanning.

DO NOT soak in a bath, hot tub or swimming pool for 24 hours after waxing.

DO NOT get a chemical peel, microdermabrasion or advanced exfoliation for 7 days before and after facial waxing.

AVOID intimacy for 24 hours after a bikini or brazilian wax to prevent irritation and infections.

DO NOT exercise for 24 hours after waxing.

48 hours after waxing, DO follow post wax care to minimize ingrowns, irritations and hyperpigmentation. Exfoliate every other day. Keep the skin and hair hydrated with a post wax oil or moisturizer. Use ingrown concentrates as needed. Please inquire about post wax products.
